Teenager taken to hospital after crash in Trafford

A man's been arrested on suspicion of drug driving

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenage boy was injured in a crash in Trafford.

It happened on Wednesday 5th April at around 8:30pm in Sale.

The collision involved a bicycle and a black Audi 3 on the Zebra crossing at the junction of Manor Avenue and Ruskin Drive.

A 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a head injury but was later discharged.

A 26-year-old male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs but has been released under investigation.

Detectives are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and provide information to help them with their investigation.

They are particularly interested in speaking with motorists who were driving along the road at the time of the incident and may have dash-cam footage.

PC Matt Leigh, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said; “If anyone witnessed this collision or has any dashcam footage please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”

He added, "A boy attended hospital as a result of this collision and we wish him all the best for a full recovery.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to contact the police as soon as possible.
