A 30-year-old man is in a 'stable condition' in hospital
Police have arrested a teenager after a man was stabbed in the chest in Bury.
Officers were called to Dumers Lane just before 10pm on Monday evening. A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
The victim remains in a stable condition, according to Greater Manchester Police.
The force said officers arrested a 19-year-old man following a short pursuit. He's being questioned on suspicion of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 9.50pm yesterday evening (Monday 21 August 2023), officers were called to reports of concerns for welfare of a man on Dumers Lane off the junction of Riverside Road.
"It was later established that a 30-year-old man had been stabbed in the chest. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
"After a short pursuit, officers managed to apprehend a 19-year-old man who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody for questioning.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this stage."
