Taxi driver seriously injured after three-vehicle crash in Tameside

A taxi driver has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving his vehicle, a minibus and a van.

At around 11:30pm on Sunday 17 July 2022, police received a report of a collision on Henrietta Street and Albion Way in the Ashton-under-Lyne area.

Enquiries have established that the minibus, a Renault Transit and a Stagecoach double decker collided at the junction. Neither the taxi or bus were carrying passengers.

The driver of the taxi – a 63-year-old man - was taken to hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.

The driver of the bus is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who has dash cam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments before the collision.
