Sunday trading hours are set to be extended under new government plans. Under the new proposal local councils will be given the power to extend the hours shops open on a Sunday.
The proposal has been met with some opposition by USDAW shopworkers union who’ve branded the plans ‘anti-family.’
Under the plans shopworkers will be able to give a month's that to large shops that they no longer want to work Sundays.
