Stockport woman who stabbed partner to death is jailed.

A woman has been jailed after man was stabbed to death in Stockport.

Lisa Withers of Ash Street, Stockport has today, Wednesday 16th November 2016 been sentenced to 26 years in prison for the murder of her partner, Jason Capper.

Withers was found guilty of murder after a trial at Manchester Crown Court on Friday 11th November 2016.

Shortly before 9pm on Saturday 24th October 2015 police were called to reports of a disturbance on Ash Street in Cheadle Heath, Stockport.

On arrival officers discovered 45-year-old Jason Capper with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.

The jury heard that Jason Capper was stabbed in the back and the sternum by Lisa Withers as he fought with her 30-year-old son in the street.

Senior Investigating Officer, Amber Waywell, from GMP's Major Incident Team said: “This is a very sad situation, Lisa Withers will now spend the next 26 years in prison, but Jason Capper’s family will have to spend the rest of their lives without him.

“My thoughts are with Jason’s family, I hope today’s sentence gives them the closure they deserve.”
