Man taken to hospital after being stabbed in Manchester city centre

A man's in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in Manchester city centre in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to Market Street just before 3am on Saturday 18 June to a man - in his 20s - who'd been chased by a group of men before being attacked.

So far no one's been arrested and officers are working to find those responsible.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Shortly before 3am today (18 June) a man in his 20s was pursued by a group of males and was stabbed on Market Street in Manchester city centre.

"He is currently in hospital being treated for stab wounds to his legs that aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

"No arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing to identify the offenders."
