Tribute to ‘much-loved son, brother and uncle’ who died in a crash in Ashton-Under-Lyne

The family of a main who died aftyer being knocked down by a vehicle in Ashton-Under-Lyne last week have paid tribute to him.

It happened on Stockportat about 11:55pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Sadly, 40 year old Shaun Davies died at the scene.

A man aged 29 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A second man aged 23 later handed himself in and was also arrested on suspicion of the same crime.

Both suspects have been released on bail pending further investigations.

Paying tribute to him, Shaun’s family say he was a beautiful kind person:

“We sadly lost our beloved brother Shaun on the 24th April. He was a much-loved son, brother and uncle.

“Shaun was such a beautiful kind person who had a loving and caring character to him. He brought laughter and smiles to anyone he was around.

“As it was a very unexpected death to the family we have set up a GoFundMe page to give Shaun the send off he deserves.

“Us as a family ask for privacy at this time to grieve in peace. Thank you.”

His family have set up a fundraising page to help give Shaun a proper send off.
