Searches are to resume for a paddle boarder who fell into Dovestone Reservoir near Oldham on Sunday (20 October).

Rescue efforts were paused on Monday night (21 October) as search teams battled "difficult conditions".

The man - believed to be a personal trainer in his 20s - has been missing since falling into the water on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services closed off the popular walking spot at around 14:30BST after two people went into the reservoir.

A woman was rescued a short time later, but a man she was with is still missing.

In a fresh statement, police said: "The scene remains in place at Dovestone Reservoir.

"Specially trained officers are supporting the family of the missing person.

"Emergency services personnel are working in difficult conditions and are doing everything they can.

"The search will continue tomorrow."
