A Salford mum says she should have been told sooner her one year old daughter had injured her neck at nursery after apparently getting caught in a blind.

Kelly Connolly from Irlam took her daughter to A and E after she saw the injury on one-year-old Willow's neck when her baby-sitter picked her up from Holyrood Nursery.

Kelly says she should have been informed immediately there was an incident and says she's been traumatised by what happened.

Councillor Lisa Stone, lead member for children’s and young people’s services, Salford City Council, said: “We have been made aware of an incident by the nursery and have begun an investigation. This process will be done thoroughly but as quickly as possible. We take children’s safety very seriously and will work with the nursery and staff to make sure the children are safe.”
