Salford crash leaves man in his 70s in life-threatening condition

A crash in Salford has left a man in his 70s in a life-threatening condition in hospital.

The victim was hit by a parked car that was struck by another vehicle in Park Lane in the Broughton area at 12.50pm yesterday afternoon (Friday 13th September).

Greater Manchester Police are investigating what happened. They've yet to make any arrests so far.

At around 12.50pm on Friday 13 September 2024, we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between two vehicles on Park Lane in Broughton, Salford.

It is believed that a BMW 420i was travelling in a north easterly direction on Park Lane when it collided with a Vauxhall Mokka that was parked and stationary.

The Vauxhall is shunted backwards and in turn colliding with the victim who was at the back of his vehicle.

A man in his 70s has sustained serious injuries that are believed to be life threatening.

Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
