Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Rochdale on Monday have been granted a 36-hour extension to continue questioning a 37-year-old male suspect.

Officers were called to an address on Industry Street just after midnight on 3 October, to reports of a disturbance.

On arrival, they discovered the body of a man. Formal identification has not yet taken place but this is expected to be done later today. A Home Office post-mortem determined death was as a result of multiple injuries.

There is still a cordon in place on Industry Street, but two associated cordons on Norton Road and Gale Street have now been removed. Police are not looking for any other suspects in relation to the incident but are keen to hear from anyone that may have any information regarding this incident.
