Pushy Parents Encouraged

Parents in Manchester are being told to shout out about their child's achievements.

As part of the Manchester High school’s ‘Blow Your Own Trumpet’ week parents have been asked to write in about their daughter’s achievements; ones that the girls themselves may not have had the confidence to shout about in school.

It’s hoped the campaign will encourage girls in the school to be more confident as well as helping parents encourage their kids to be more forthcoming about their achievements.

The week sees a campaign at the school letting pupils know about any actitivies their classmates have taken part in that deserve special praise.

15 year-old Nicola Stockdale is an example of a pupil who's deserves praise after raising more than £2000 for cancer charities following the death of her father from the illness.
