Police say no further action will be taken in connection with the death of Greater Manchester fire fighter Stephen Hunt.

The 38-year-old died whilst tackling a blaze at Paul's Hair World on Oldham Street in the City Centre over three years ago.

A verdict of unlawful killing was recorded at his inquest after it was found two teenage girls were responsible for starting the fire - but following further investigation it's been decided no one will be prosecuted.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said:

Following the findings from the Coroner’s inquest the Crown Prosecution Service and GMP reviewed the case and it has been determined that no further action will be taken.
