At around 9.20pm on Monday 14 June, officers were called to Manley Road to reports of an assault.

Emergency services attended and found the 35-year-old male delivery driver had received a slash wound to his cheek from a knife before the offender fled the scene.

The man was taken to hospital, where he was treated for his injuries that are not believed to be serious.

Detectives have released images of a man they want to speak to following an assault of a delivery driver in Whalley Range, Manchester.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Chris Maddocks, from GMP's City of Manchester South division, said: "This was a vicious attack on a delivery driver who was doing his job and has understandably been left shaken.

"I would urge other delivery drivers to be cautious but would like to stress that we're carrying out a number of enquiries to trace those responsible and bring them to justice.

"The image isn't the clearest but we're hoping that members of the public may recognise the person in the image from their clothing or having seen them earlier that day."
