Four people have been arrested after drugs and a sawn off shotgun were seized in Salford. Police executed a drugs warrant at a house on Murray Street, Higher Broughton at 9.50am Wednesday morning. Following a search, officers discovered a large quantity of drugs, a sawn-off shotgun and 23 cartridges. Two men, aged 25 and 21, and two women aged 46 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and possession with intent to supply drugs. They have all been bailed pending further enquiries. Detective Inspector Kenny Blain said: “It is too early to say whether this firearm is linked to any other discharges in the area and examination of the firearm will be made to establish this. “This is a significant recovery and demonstrates our commitment to responding to the concerns of our community and making our streets safer for those who live and work in the city. “I would ask anyone who has any information as to where drugs or firearms may be kept to contact police. The information you supply will always be treated with the strictest of confidence.”
