Police believe three sexual assaults in same alleyway are linked

The first incident happened in February while there were two more attacks last month

Police in Stockport are appealing for information after three women were sexually assaulted in the same alleyway.

Officers are currently investigating the incidents - which happened in the alley to the rear of Stockport County FC, leading from Moscow Road East to Booth Street in Edgeley.

Shortly before 5.15pm on Friday 1 February 2019, a woman in her 40s was approached by a young man who began talking to her before he sexually assaulted her.

Around 4.05pm on Tuesday 4 June 2019 a woman in her 40s was sexually assaulted, and on Monday 17 June, around 11.25am, a woman in her 30s was sexually assaulted at the same location.

The offender is described as a white teenager, aged around 16-18 with short light-brown hair. In the latest reported incident, he was described as wearing a dark-green hooded top, blue Nike bottoms and black trainers with a white sole.

Police Constable Steve Webster, of GMP’s Stockport district, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries to trace the individual responsible and we are now appealing for the public’s help.

“If you have any information which could assist with this investigation, then please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
