A pedestrian has died after a crash involving two vehicles in Oldham.

Emergency services were called to the entrance of Alexandra Retail Park at around 3.15pm yesterday, after reports of two men being injured.

It's thought two cars, travelling in opposite directions, have collided causing one to hit the pedestrians.

One of the pedestrians, aged 59, suffered fatal injuries. Another man, also aged 59, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

Two drivers – a man and a woman, aged 32 and 36 respectively - have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody for questioning.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
