A man's died and several other people have been injured in a crash on the M60 in Salford last night.

At around 7pm, emergency services responded to reports of a road traffic collision anti-clockwise between junction 15 and 16, involving an HGV.

Police believe the lorry had been travelling on the M60 when it lost control and crashed into two vehicles. It then crossed into the other carriageway and collided with a further two vehicles, before coming to a halt on the verge.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 60s, has died as a result of injuries from the collision.

A woman in her 20s suffered serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening, while several other people sustained minor injuries.

Greater Manchester police say no arrests have been made.

Closures remain in place and drivers are advised to check for latest travel updates while planning their journey.

Officers from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

This includes anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage from around the time of the crash.
