Police ask for public's help after man found hurt in Oldham dies
It's thought he might have been at the local pubs before getting injured
Police in Greater Manchester are asking the public for help after a man found injured in Oldham last week has died in hospital.
On Thursday 12th January 2023 at around 4:20am, officers were called to a concern for welfare of a man outside Mevagissey Walk in Greenacres, Oldham.
Officers attended the scene, and the man was found to have serious injuries and blood on his hands, face, and bare feet.
The 49-year-old man was taken to hospital and was left in a critical condition.
Sadly, he has passed away on Saturday 14th January 2023.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, who has since been released on police bail.

Enquiries suggest that the victim may have been drinking in local pubs earlier in the day but his movements in the hours leading up to being found are unclear at this time.
GMP are urging the public to come forward if they were in the area that evening who may have saw the victim, any suspicious behaviour or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.
Detective Chief Inspector Benjamin Cottam of GMP’s Oldham said: "Firstly, our thoughts are with the victim’s family of what I know will be a difficult time. Our specialist officers are currently supporting the victim’s family and we are ensuring we exhaust every possible line of enquiry to understand what happened that evening.
"Whilst we are not certain there is any form of criminality in this case, we cannot rule this out. We are looking at every possible scenario that could have taken place that evening and we need your help to piece together a chain of events.
"We need members of the public to come forward with any CCTV, dash cam footage from that area that evening, if you saw anything suspicious, witnessed any form of assault or have any information no matter how small it may seem, it could have a huge impact on our investigations.
