Noel Gallagher's tribute to Prince
Manchester music legend Noel Gallagher pays tribute to Prince at his gig in Glasgow.
From Minnesota to Manchester, Prince fans have been mourning the loss of a musical giant.
The 57 year-old singer-songwriter died yesterday after collapsing in a lift.
The cause of death isn't yet known.
Prince performed a number of surprise sell-out gigs in Manchester last summer with fans describing the concerts at both the Academy and the Arena as a 'masterclass in musicianship'.
Last night former Oasis star Noel Gallagher led the crowd in a musical tribute to his hero at The Hydro in Scotland where he was playing with his band 'High Flying Birds'.
The venue was illuminated in purple and Noel paid his own tribute on stage by blasting out the Prince hit Let's Go Crazy.
He also dedicated Oasis hit Live Forever to the iconic musician, telling fans, "So, I was in a band once. We had an album called Standing on the Shoulders of Giants and one of those giants was Prince.
"So you're going to help me pay tribute to the great man and help me do Live Forever."
