No further action will be taken against a Manchester man who was arrested after a pensioner was found dead in a Blackpool home on Boxing Day.

Police officers and members of the North West Ambulance Service were called to Severn Road just after 7pm on Monday 26 December after reports that a woman was unresponsive.

When they arrived, they found the body of a woman in her 70s.

Lancashire Police say, following a post-mortem, they're now satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A 47-year-old man from Manchester has been released after being questioned on suspicion of murder.

A file will be prepared for HM Coroner in due course.
