Greater Manchester Police has launched a new interactive web app about Child Sexual Exploitation as the country marks National Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Day. “Your Call: Child Sexual Exploitation”, second in the GMP web app series, gives young people and their parents an opportunity to walk in the shoes of a police officer and consider scenarios encountered by those who respond to reports of missing young people and CSE. It aims to raise awareness about what CSE is, how it affects victims and how complex the investigations may be. Detective Superintendent Joanne Rawlinson said: "It is crucial that we continue to educate, raise awareness and increase understanding about CSE and the different forms it takes, particularly amongst young people. The new online web app is a new way in which we hope to do this. "'Your Call' has been developed by specialist officers and in conjunction with partner agencies and young people themselves. It explores the link between CSE and running away, and also highlights the complex nature of these investigations. "We want to remind young people and adults concerned about them to come forward and speak to us if they are concerned about CSE. We understand and will work hard to protect you." The web app is accessible on desktop and tablets via www.yourcallgm.co.uk.
