Murder investigation launched in Salford

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in Salford.

Police and paramedics were called to Seedley Road at around 4pm on Friday, where they found a man with serious injuries.

He was rushed to hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.

Greater Manchester Police have arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he is currently in custody.

Superintendent Joe Harrop, from GMP, says: "Detectives from the Major Incident Team are now investigating the murder and it is believed there is no risk to the wider community, as it appears to be an isolated incident.

"We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident this evening, or if anyone has any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, to contact us via 101."
