Manchester drug dealer jailed

James Loose sentenced for drug and criminal damage offences.

A drug dealer from Manchester has been jailed after being convicted of criminal damage and drug offences. James Loose of Ashurst Road, Manchester has been sentenced at Manchester Crown Court today, Friday 22nd July, to a total of 7 years, 6 months and 28 days.

He previously pleaded guilty to supply of Class A drugs (Charge A), possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (Charge B), possession of Class B drugs (Charge C) and criminal damage (Charge D). He received separate sentences of 3 years and 9 months (Charge A), 3 years and 9 months (Charge B), 7 days (Charge C) and 21 days (Charge D) for the respective offences to served concurrently, meaning he will spend 3 years and 9 months in prison.

The court heard that in January of this year, Loose had been involved in a dispute with another man which led to him threatening the man and smashing a window at his house. Following a report made to police, a warrant was executed at an address in south Manchester and found Loose there attempting to flush items down the toilet.

At the property police seized quantities of cocaine, cannabis and cash as well as electronic scales, four mobile phones, body armour and sheets of paper used as ‘drugs debtors’ list.

Detective Constable Louise Moss of GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “James Loose brought misery to the lives of many people in south Manchester and his sentence will bring some relief to those he has terrorised
