Manchester United fans have gathered at Old Trafford to protest against the club's ownership.

Supporters group 'The 1958' are leading the protests against the Glazer family, outside the ground ahead of their fixture against Liverpool.

It follows the club's disastrous start to the season, losing against Brighton and Brentford in their first two fixtures.

United's new manager Erik Tan Hag has called for calm ahead of the game saying "I can only say the owners want to win and we want the fans behind the club." But he also admitted he has not been at the club long enough to fully understand the fans' discontent.

Supporters' attempts to let their feelings be known about the owners in May 2021 led to that fixture against Liverpool being called off.

Over the weekend Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insisted if the protests cause the match to be called off his side should automatically be awarded three points.
