Man stabbed in City Centre

He's been taken to hospital, following the incident on Tib Street.

A man's been stabbed in the chest Manchester City Centre.

Police were called to Tib Street just before 6pm tonight (Monday 19th March).

He's been taken to hospital.

It is believed the incident happened at the junction of Oldham Street and Piccadilly a short time before police were called.

Officers remain at the scene carrying out enquiries and anybody with information is asked to come forward.

Chief Superintendent Wasim Chaudhry of GMP’s City of Manchester Division said: “We are in the very early stages of our investigation and we currently have officers at the scene conducting enquiries to ascertain exactly what happened.

“Our early enquiries have led us to believe that the incident happened at the junction of Oldham Street and Piccadilly shortly before 5:55pm so it’s likely there will have been a large number of witnesses.

“If you have any information that you believe can assist us then I would urge you to contact police immediately.”
