Man released following arrest into Manchester City Centre bombing

Police investigating the 1996 bombing in Manchester City Centre have announced a man arrested at Birmingham Airport has been released from custody without charge.

Greater Manchester Police have provided an update following the arrest of a man on Thursday on suspicion of terrorism offences.

In a statement issued yesterday, Detective Superintendent Andrew Meeks, Head of Investigations for Counter Terrorism Policing North West said, "We remain determined to hold those responsible for this attack to account regardless of the time passed and would still encourage anyone who has any information that could assist our enquiries to get in touch via the Major Incident Portal."
