Man dies after crash on the M62 near Rochdale

A man in his thirties has died, after a crash on the M62 near Rochdale yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 2 August).

Police were called to reports of the incident on the westbound carriageway between junction 21 and junction 20.

A car carrying three people had struck the central reservation.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the driver, a man in his 30s, died at the scene.

One man suffered minor injuries, while another man suffered serious injuries. He currently remains in hospital.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen what happened – or who might have dashcam, mobile, or CCTV footage from around the time – to come forward.
