A driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving
A man has died after being hit by a car on the Mancunian Way.
Police were called to the junction of the busy road in Manchester city centre at around 00:50GMT on Friday 31 October.
The man, in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of a Volkswagen was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Drivers are being warned of long delays with the road closed in both directions, leading to reports of gridlock in the city centre.
Greater Manchester Police are asking to speak to any witnesses and want to see any dashcam footage of the collision.
