Man dies after being hit by bus in Manchester as driver arrested

Police are appealing for CCTV, mobile and dashcam footage

A man in his 50s has died after being hit by a bus in south Manchester.

GMP is appealing for information following the collision on Stockport Road, Longsight at around 4:50pm on Thursday 12 October 2023.

The bus had been travelling along Stockport Road and collided with the man while he was crossing at the junction with Richmond Grove East.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and but sadly died on Tuesday 17 October.

A 58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving has been released on bail.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with relevant information or footage - including CCTV, dashcam or mobile - to get in touch by calling the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4742 quoting log 2527 of 12/10/2023.
