Man's death in Salford no longer being treated as suspicious

Police say a 52 year old man has been released

Police say the death of man in Salford is no longer being treated as suspicious.

He was found by officers who were called to reports of a disturbance on Seedley Road, Salford, at around 4.00pm on Friday.

He was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead at 5:10pm.

Following a Home Office post-mortem examination on Saturday, the death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

Police say enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death are continuing and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Detective Chief Inspector Liz Hopkinson from GMP Major Incident Team said: “Following extensive enquiries, we can now confirm that the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and the 52-year-old man who was initially arrested has been released pending further enquiries.

“Our enquiries are ongoing as we continue to investigate the full circumstances of this incident.”
