Man dead and teenage boy injured after motorbike crash in Wigan

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward

An investigation's been launched after a fatal motorbike crash in Wigan

Greater Manchester Police were called at around 5pm on Saturday 20 January to reports of a collision involving two males riding a motorcycle.

A 27-year-old suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident and despite the efforts of paramedics, died on Sunday.

A 16-year-old boy suffered minor injuries.

The force said initial enquiries suggested that at around 5pm that evening, the two males were on the motorbike when it collided with a fence post on a path off Hall Lane in Aspull.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
