Man charged after woman hit by car and killed in Bolton

A man has been charged with multiple driving offences after a woman died in a Bolton.

At 10pm on Sunday 31 January 2016, a woman crossed over Bow Street at the junction of Crown Street when she fell over.

A short time later, a bus and two vehicles are seen on CCTV slowing down and driving around her. There was a short break in traffic before another car, a Ford Focus, collided with her.

The car pulled up on Back Bridge Street and the driver abandoned the vehicle.

23 year old Tinashe Irvine Chikoto of Devonshire Road, Atherton has been charged with the following offences:

1) Causing death by dangerous driving

2) Failing to stop at the scene of a collision

3) Failing to report a collision

4) Causing death whilst unlicensed

5) Driving a motor vehicle without insurance

6) Driving whilst unfit through drugs

7) Perverting the course of justice

He has been remanded into custody to appear before Bolton Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 3 February 2016.
