Greater Manchester Police tell us they have arrested a man after being called to reports of a bomb threat in Manchester.

Officers and fire crews were called last night by security to reports of a bomb threat at the Abraham Moss Centre on Crescent Road.

Members of the public were evacuated as a precaution and a thorough search of the premises was carried out.

It was thankfully determined to be a hoax with police saying they discovered no credible threat.

An 18 year old man has since been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and remains in police custody at this time for questioning.

Inspector Charlotte Roche said: "I understand the concerns incidents of this nature will raise amongst the community but I would like to reassure you that no credible threat was found.

"On behalf of GMP, I would like to thank the local community for your patience and assistance while this incident was resolved."
