Man arrested after woman robbed in North Manchester
A 67 year old woman suffered serious leg injuries
Detectives investigating after a woman was robbed in North Manchester have made an arrest.
Officers received a report around 12:55pm of a 67-year-old woman who had been robbed on Clayton Hall Road.
The male suspect approached the victim from behind, dragged her to the floor and stole her handbag before making off towards Stanton Street.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to her leg and shoulder which will require surgery.
A 38-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of theft and remains in custody for further questioning.
Detective Sergeant Terina Arthern is still urging any witnesses to come forward:
“We’d like to firstly thank the public for their assistance in sharing the appeal for information. With the information provided from the local community we have successfully made an arrest and he will remain in custody for further questioning.
"Every bit of information really counts and is continuing to help us build a clearer picture to ensure we secure justice for the victim of this crime. We are continuing to support her and her family at this time and she is currently awaiting surgery for the injuries she sustained during this incident.
