Man admits causing death of cyclist by dangerous driving in Trafford

A man's been warned he faces a lengthy jail sentence after he admitted killing a cyclist in a hit-and-run.
26-year old Gurparthab Ajay Singh pleaded guilty at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on Tuesday to causing the death by dangerous driving of 24-year old Vicky Myres.
He also admitted failing to stop after a road collision and failing to report a road collision.
Vicky Myres had been cycling with her boyfriend's mother in Timperley, Trafford, shortly before 7.55am on Sunday 27th August, when she was hit by a VW Polo driven by Singh.
Judge John Potter warned Singh, of Hall Lane, Wythenshawe, he faced a custodial sentence of some length''.
He said: You pleaded guilty to an act of almost indescribable selfishness which has caused significant harm for the rest of their lives to many, many people.''
The case was adjourned for sentencing on 26th October to allow the Crown Prosecution Service to provide further information to the court.
Singh, who wore glasses and a navy blue jumper, was remanded in custody.
Two female relatives of Singh were in court for the hearing, as well as six members of Vicky Myres' family.
In a tribute after her death, Vicky was described by her family as a lovely daughter'' who had
everything to live for''.
The florist, from Flixton, Manchester, had just bought a house with her partner James and recently cycled from Land's End to John o'Groats, her family said.
