Man 'critical' after reports of stabbing in Longsight
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after reports of a stabbing in the Longsight area of Manchester last night.
Emergency crews were called to Slade Lane at around 6.15pm.
A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Greater Manchester Police have issued a statement: "At around 6.15pmon Friday, we were called to reports of a stabbing on Slade Lane in Longsight, Manchester.
"Our officers alongside colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his 20s with a stab wound to his chest.
"The victim has been taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
"A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this stage."
