Police, paramedics and fire crews have been called out to an 'incident' in Manchester City Centre.

Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter's been cordoned off and there are dozens of emergency vehicles at the scene.

All we know at the moment is there's been an assault in one of the flats there.

People in nearby businesses and cafes are being moved away from the area.

We have a reporter at the cordon.

Police negotiators are at the scene.

The latest statement from GMP is:

A man has been detained on Oldham Street in relation to the earlier incident.
