A house in Gorton's been shot at, while a mother and child were inside.
The property on Sutton Avenue was targeted in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 21st March 2017).
No one was injured.
An investigation's underway and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone else with information to contact them.
A hooded man arrived on the street in a silver VW Golf before approaching the house and firing a handgun at the window.
Detective Inspector Muz Kernain, of GMP’s City of Manchester team, said: “This is a serious incident that will understandably cause concern in the area.
“We believe that this was a targeted attack that poses no threat to the wider community and we have increased patrols in response.
“A mother and child have been left extremely shaken by this traumatic ordeal and it is fortunate that neither of them were injured.
“ I would urge anyone who saw anything that can help our investigation to contact us.”
