Investigation launched in Heywood after pensioner dies in crash

Police are now appealing for information from the public

An investigation has been launched after a pensioner died following a collision in Heywood.

Emergency services were called at around 4:40pm on Wednesday 15 June, to reports of a collision on Pilsworth Road South.

An 82-year-old man was taken to hospital and sadly died on Monday 20 June 2022.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage from the surrounding area immediately before or after the collision is now being asked to contact Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting 2464 15/06/2022.

Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
