Hero Pensioner Turns Internet Sensation
A hero pensioner who helped stop a knife-weilding thief from fleeing a shop has taken the internet by storm.
78-year-old Ron Smith from Swinton spotted the robber in P and H Convenience store in Bolton Road and sprung into action by holding the door shut so that he couldn't escape. He was joined by Robert Anderson, who's 72.
