Kelly Brown is urging the government to take more of a stand against knife crime

A Greater Manchester mum who tragically lost her teenage son to knife crime is heading to Westminster today to call for change.
Kelly Brown's been campaigning for tougher regulations ever since her 16-year-old son, Rhamero West, was stabbed to death in Old Trafford in September 2021.
She will be sharing her story with the policing minister, Chris Philp.
Kelly said: "It needs to come from a grieving mother who has gone through it, and not celebrities', or not other people who are just high up there...
"They actually need to hear it from a mother who is just a normal mum, who has gone through this grief of loosing her son to knife crime, and hopefully, it's got to sink in one day.
"There's too many mothers crying over this knife crime, and it needs to stop.
Since Rhamero's death, Kelly has been campaigning for more bleed kits to be installed across Greater Manchester. Kelly has also opened up 'Merosworld Foundation Youth Club' to help support young people in her local area: "I want more putting back into the communities, that is the way forward.
"We need to get the higher people to get on board and start bringing youth clubs and mentors, and start giving them a focus and a chance to do better with their lives."
