GMP officer charged with child sex offences

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed an officer has been charged with child sex offences.

40-year-old Lee Cunliffe, who's a Detective Constable based in GMP's Salford district, has been charged with:

  • 2 counts of attempting to arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offence
  • 1 count of possession of an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child
  • 3 counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child
  • 1 count of distributing an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child
  • 2 counts of misconduct in a public office
  • 2 counts of perverting the course of public justice

He has been bailed to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on 26th October 2020 at 10:30am.

The officer was arrested on Tuesday 15 December 2021 and has remained suspended from duty since that date.
