Girl, 16, fighting for life after being found in Manchester alleyway

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs

A 16-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital after emergency services descended on an alleyway in Manchester.

Police were called by the ambulance service at around 7:30pm on Tuesday, following concern for the welfare of a teenage girl on Wilbraham Road, Chorlton.

She was rushed to hospital where she continues to fight for her life.

A 21-year-old woman is being questioned on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Officers remained at the scene on Wednesday morning as an investigation continued.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 7.30pm on Tuesday 30 April 2024, we were called by our colleagues at the North West Ambulance Service in relation to a concern for welfare of a teenage girl in an alleyway on Wilbraham Road in Manchester.

"The girl, 16, was taken to hospital to be seen by healthcare professionals where she remains in critical condition.

"A 21-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and remains in police custody.

Enquires are ongoing at this stage."
