Four-year-old injured by hoarding at Manchester Airport

A four-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a piece of hoarding at Manchester Airport fell on top of him.

The incident happened in Terminal 1 at around 7.50am this morning (Thursday 26th May).

A Manchester Airport spokesman, said: "We can confirm that a passenger suffered an injury in Terminal One this morning. The passenger was tended to by our staff and paramedics, and has been taken to hospital. A full investigation into the incident will now take place."

The North West Ambulance Service say they were called to the airport at 7.48am. The four-year-old boy has been taken to Wythenshawe hospital to be treated for a cut to the head and an ankle injury.

A Health and Safety investigation's now underway.
