Footballer Ched Evans wins appeal over rape conviction
Former City player now faces retrial after conviction is quashed.
Ched Evans will face a retrial after having his rape conviction quashed at the Court of Appeal.
The former Manchester City and Sheffield United striker was jailed in 2012 for five years for raping a 19 year-old woman.
Despite being linked with several clubs the 27 year-old struggled to find a new team upon his release.
An initial appeal failed, but a review by the Criminal Cases Review Commission led to the case being referred back to the appeal court last year.
