Five shots fired at front door of a house in Stockport

It happened on Elmtree Drive in Heaton Norris last night.

Greater Manchester Police have told us it's "incredibly lucky" nobody was hurt after shots were fired at a house in Stockport.

The alarm was raised at around 11.10pm last night (Thursday 26th April) when a gun was fired on Elmtree Drive in Heaton Norris.

A man approached a semi-detached house went to the front door, before standing back on the pavement and firing five times.

The man, who is described of a slim build, wearing a hooded top, in his late teens to early twenties, fled in the direction of Crescent Park.

Although people were inside the house at the time, all managed to escape without injury.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Stephen Gilbertson of GMP’s Stockport borough, said: “It is incredibly lucky that no one was injured in this terrifying incident that has disrupted the peace of this street.

“We need to find the man responsible for this, as the use of guns is something that we will not stand for in our community.

“To do this, we need your help. If you saw a man acting suspiciously last night in the area, or have any detail that could help us understand how this happened, please, get in touch.”
