Five people hurt during police chase crash in Bolton
It happened on the A666 last night (March 10)
A watchdog is investigating after five people were seriously hurt in a crash during a police chase near Bolton.
Greater Manchester Police said officers began pursuing a "suspicious vehicle" in the Bury Road area.
The Skoda then went the wrong way onto the A666 before hitting a BMW head-on.
Five people were injured and treated at the scene, with an unspecified number taken to hospital afterwards.
Three of the people were from the Skoda and two were from the BMW.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch, and want to speak to possible witnesses as well as see any dashcam footage.
