Fire at Manchester restaurant kitchen
Crews sent to the Yang Sing on Princess Street
Firefighters are at the scene of a blaze in the City Centre.
They were called to the Yang Sing restaurant at around 11 this morning following calls from members of the public who reported seeing smoke on Princess Street.
The fire was in the basement kitchen's ducting system.
6 fire engines and an Incident Command Unit were sent to the scene.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said:
"We used Breathing Apparatus to search all floors of the building and are using an Aerial Appliance as an observation point above the roof and to direct a water jet into ventilation outlets."
"As of 1400 a full survey of the ducting system has been carried out and no further sign of fire found. The incident is scaling down."
