Police watchdog investigating fatal crash in Bolton

A car failed to stop for police and then crashed into two parked vehicles

A man in his 30s, who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a car crash in Bolton, has died

He was a front seat passenger in a Nissan that failed to stop for police on Lever Edge Lane shortly after 2am yesterday morning (Sunday 2 October), that then crashed into two parked vehicles.

A woman in her 30s who was also a passenger the vehicle, remains in hospital with serious injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
